Introduction (AY Leader):
Ask the congregation to list 5 things about Abigail (David and Nabal’s wife)
Today we will look at the relationship between three bible characters namely, David, Nabal, and Abigail. We will look at how God called Abigail, used her wisdom and rewarded her. As well as the problems with Nabal.
Presentation: Who is Abigail?
Ask a young person to do a short (5 minutes) presentation on Abigail. They should be given this assignment at least one week before this program.
The presentation should cover the following:
- Where is the story of Abigail found in the bible?
- Who was she married to first?
- A summary of her story
- Her admirable characteristics
- How was she repaid for her wisdom?

Part 2: AY Leader should explain this section
Divide the church into four groups. Each group will be given a portion of scripture from 1 Samuel 25. Ask each group to examine the story in 15 minutes and dramatize their various sections.
The Drama should depict the Bible story and bring out the object lessons to be learned and applied by us as Christians. This skit should bring out the creativity of the church and teach the story of David, Nabal, and Abigail.
Each Drama should be no longer than 5 minutes.
Group 1: 1 Samuel 25: 1-11
Group 2: 1 Samuel 25: 12-22
Group 3: 1 Samuel 25: 23-34
Group 4: 1 Samuel 25:34- 44
Vespers:
