Opening Remarks:
The term Minor Prophets describes a group of twelve books in the Bible filled with powerful messages that are short in length. In order of their appearance in the Bible, they are Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi. They all make for easy reading, but their messages are not light, they are potent and very much applicable to the time we currently live.
The prophets warn the wicket and encourage the righteous.
Each message was a message to Israel and Judah.
Today as spiritual Israel, we should look within these books to see what messages the prophets are telling us, what warnings of impending doom lay ahead if we do not change our ways.
However, not all the messages are of Doom and gloom, Haggai brings a message of Hope.
Stay with us as we go into a few of these books written by the Minor Prophets. Oh Israel, will you listen?
The Sabbath School should take the form of a series of short presentations. Each presenter should cover the following points:
- Briefly describe the given prophet?
- What is the message?
- What is the application of this message today?
*Note well the time must be managed. The program can be shortened by choosing three minor prophets only, or by reducing the number of special musical items. This program can also be expanded to include Divine Hour by adding more minor prophets. This program could also be used for Prayer and Fasting Day*
As much as possible vary the presenters by asking someone who is young, a female etcetera.
