Be Fruitful and Multiply
The question is a sometimes asked, why would anyone in their right mind, especially God-fearing people, even think to have children in these last days? With the increase in crime, violence, disrespect for parents, teachers, and authority, the LGBTQ agenda, and the general disregard of all things spiritual, why would we even consider bringing innocent children in such an awful, sin-sick world?
I agree that everyone should not be having children in a world like this. In fact, the only people who should be having children in these last days are happily married, godly fearing, commandment-keeping men and women are who are prepared to teach their children the word of God daily.
There is a shortage of adequately trained, God-fearing boys and girls who can testify about the power of Christ through their words and attitude. We need parents who are willing to put in the work and prayers to fill our world with a Godly generation. And praise the Lord, we have a perfect example standing before us.
Proverbs 29:16 Says, "When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth."
When God said to be fruitful and multiply, he was speaking to people who were in his image. In Genesis 1:27, God outlines the requirement of becoming a parent. So, God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Here, God is specifying that in order to be good parent he needs both the man and woman involved. Verse 28 follows immediately after and says: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it…
This commandment has not changed; in fact, it is probably more relevant today. When godly parents are training godly children, they will subdue the world, which means to bring it under control.
Today as you bring *Insert Baby's name* to be blessed, we will pray that you will empower him/her to subdue the world. To overcome evil with good, to show to the world what having Godly parents and living a life according to the will of God can do. So by his/her actions, people will lift up Jesus.
She/He cannot do this without you continuously showing her how to live in the image of God, teaching her daily about His word, and most importantly leading by example because children live what they learn.
